BIANCO
Bianco had been hit by a car and left to agonize on the side of the road until some kind-hearted people eventually stopped and took him to a veterinary clinic. But it was a small clinic and they couldn’t perform any X-rays to investigate the injuries.
When we found out about Bianco’s case we decided to take him to our shelter. He could barely stand and was unable to walk. We performed several X-rays and turned out Bianco had a fractured elbow, but because several weeks had passed since the accident, callus had already formed there. Also, the bones of his front legs were abnormally thick, so we ran additional blood tests, and Bianco tested positive for hepatozoonosis (a disease that was causing new bone formation on the surface of existing bones). He received supportive care and medication, but the condition cannot be reversed.
Currently he has no symptoms, and he is now full of life and playful, loves to run through the yard or play with toys. And he is very friendly with people.
